This page details CA Medicare dialysis help. Certain people might be able to get Medicare if they require dialysis due to end-stage renal disease or because they require a kidney transplant irregardless of their age. If a person qualifies for Medicare because of ESRD their Medcare coverage will begin the fourth month that they receive dialysis. Coverage can start sooner if a person can administer their own at-home dialysis. It is also possible to in the month an individual is admitted into a Medicare-approved hospital to get a kidney transplant, or two months before the transplant is scheduled to begin if there is a delay before the proceedure can be performed. You may stay on Medicare for one year after your dialysis ends or three years after a kidney transplant. Inpatient dialysis treatments and supplies come under Medicare Part A, but outpatient dialysis treatments and supplies come under Medicare Part B. For inpatient hospital stays which include dialysis Medicare pays for the dialysis under Part A in the same way it would any other Medicare Part A covered hospital stay.
