This internet web page explains CA Medicare Part A help. Medicare Part A is usually called hospital insurance. It essentially covers four types of health care costs. The four types of care covered by Part A are home health care, hospice care, inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility and inpatient hospital care. It also covers the cost of blood received at a hospital or skilled nursing facility during a covered stay. Each one of these benefit types are subject to their own benefit periods and deductibles. With hospitalization Medicare will pay for the costs of semiprivate rooms, supplies, general nursing and meals. Part A doesn't however pay for telephones, private rooms (unless medically necessary), private duty nurses and televisions. With skilled nursing facilities Medicare will pay for such costs as rehabilitative care, skilled nursing services, speech-language pathology services and a semiprivate room. For home health care Medicare will pay for such costs as durable medical equipment, physical and occupational services, medical social services, part-time or intermittent skilled nursing services and part-time or intermittent home health aid services. For hospice services Medicare will pay for the costs of such services as pain control drugs, social worker services, medical supplies, nurses, medical equipment, counseling, physical therapy and doctors. Under Medicare Part A all but the first three pints of blood are paid for by Medicare. We have assisted Californians with their Medicare Supplement needs for more than 20 years.
