This web page goes into CA Medicare Supplement core help. All currently sold Medicare Supplement policies must cover a minimum set of benefits. These minimum benefits are known as the Medicare Supplement core benefits. The core Medicare Supplement benefits are: Covering the Part A coinsurance amount for the 61st day of hospitalization through the 90th day of hospitalization. Covering the Medicare Part A coinsurance amount for the 60 lifetime hospital reserve days. Covering the Medicare Part A hospital expenses after all Medicare Part A hospital benefits have been exhausted. Covering the cost of the first three pints of blood under both Part A and Part B. Covering the Part B co-payments for Medicare approved charges. All Medicare Supplements must have these core benefits. In addition to these core benefits there are other standard features a Medicare Supplement can contain. A Medicare Supplement cannot be made up of whatever additional features an insurance company wants to have in them. There are ten standard plans which an insurance company can offer.
