Covering 80% of the billed charges for emergency treatment, physician services and other medical services received in a foreign country that is medically necessary. The care must begin within 60 days of leaving the United States. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. This care has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare if the care been received in the United States. It is possible for additional benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement plans, but these additional benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
