Paying the cost of the first three pints of blood under both Part A and Part B. Paying the Medicare Part B co-payments for Medicare approved charges. Paying the Medicare Part A deductible per benefit period. Paying the Medicare Part A coinsurance for the 21st to the 100th day of care in a skilled nursing facility. Paying 80% of the billed charges for emergency treatment, physician services and other medical services received in a foreign country that is medically necessary. This foreign care must begin within 60 days of leaving the U.S. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is also subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. The care has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare if the care been received in the United States. Pays for 50% of outpatient prescription medication costs. There is a deductible on this coverage and there is also a limit on how much the plan will pay in a given year. It is possible for extra benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplemental plans, but these extra benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
