This page details CA Medicare Supplemental. A Medicare Supplement is an insurance policy purchased from an insurer that pays for many of the expenses not paid for by Medicare. In 1992 the federal government standardized Medicare Supplement insurance plans. Most states adopted these plans and these are the only Medicare Supplement policies the insurance companies can offer. There are ten standard Medicare Supplement plans. The plans have the designations A through J. Each of these plans have the same basic benefits. These are called the "core" benefits. Some California Medicare Supplement plans may be better suited to some people than others and as to which plan is best for a person can be complicated. In order to determine which plan is right for an individual it is recommended that the person consult a qualified licensed insurance professional before making a decision. One of the factors which can effect what plan is right for a person is whether or not they are using medication.
