Paying the Medicare Part A deductible per benefit period. Paying the Medicare Part A coinsurance for the 21st to the 100th day of care in a skilled nursing facility. Covering 80% of the billed charges for emergency treatment, physician services and other medical services received in a foreign country that is medically necessary. This foreign care must begin within 60 days of leaving the U.S. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. This care has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare had the care been received in the United States. Pays for 50% of outpatient prescription medication costs. This coverage has a deductible and there is a limit on how much the plan will pay in a year for prescriptions. It is also possible for extra benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement policies, but these additional benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
