This internet web page details California Medicare dialysis help. Certain people might be able to get Medicare if they need dialysis because of end-stage renal disease or because they need a kidney transplant irregardless of their age. If an individual qualifies for Medicare due to ESRD their Medcare coverage begins the fourth month that they receive dialysis. Coverage can start sooner if a person can administer their own at-home dialysis. It is also possible to in the month an individual is admitted into a Medicare-approved hospital to get a kidney transplant, or two months before the transplant is scheduled to begin if there is a delay before the proceedure can be performed. You may continue on Medicare for one year after your dialysis ends or three years after a kidney transplant. Inpatient dialysis treatments and supplies come under Part A, but outpatient dialysis treatments and supplies are covered under Medicare Part B. For inpatient hospital stays which include dialysis Medicare pays for the dialysis under Part A in the same way it would any other Medicare Part A covered hospital stay.
