This foreign care must begin within 60 days of leaving the United States. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. This treatment has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare if the care been received in the U.S. It is also possible for additional benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement plans, but these extra benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
