Paying the Medicare Part A co-payments for the 60 lifetime reserve days. Paying the Part A hospital expenses after all Part A hospital benefits have been exhausted. Paying the cost of the first three pints of blood under both Part A and Part B. Covering the Medicare Part B co-payments for Medicare approved charges. Covering the Medicare Part A deductible per benefit period. Paying the Medicare Part A co-payments for the 21st to the 100th day of care in a skilled nursing facility. Covering 80% of the billed charges for emergency treatment, physician services and other medical services received in a foreign country that is medically necessary. The care must begin within 60 days of leaving the U.S. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. The treatment has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare had the care been received in the United States. Covers several preventive care services that are not covered by Medicare. There is an annual limit on this benefit. It is possible for additional benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement plans, but these additional benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
