The care must begin within 60 days of leaving the United States. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is also subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. The treatment has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare if the care been received in the U.S. Pays for a variety of preventive care services not covered by Medicare. There is an annual limit on this coverage. It is possible for extra benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement plans, but these additional benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
