Covering 80% of the billed charges for emergency treatment, physician services and other medical services received in a foreign country that is medically necessary. The care must begin within 60 days of leaving the United States. This benefit has a $250 deductible and is subject to a $50,000 lifetime maximum benefit. This care has to be a type of care that would be covered by Medicare had the care been received in the United States. Covering the Medicare Part B deductible. It is possible for additional benefits to be offered in Medicare Supplement plans, but these extra benefits must be approved by the state insurance commissioner.
